Carl’s Jr, the premium burger chain loved globally for its signature line of chargrilled thick burgers, is finally here in Delhi to start its India journey! It’s first branch has opened at Select City Walk, Saket and Team GoBuzzinga was delighted to attend the sneak-peek of its specially crafted menu! Here’s a quick lowdown about the Burgers, Beer and the Buzz of Carl’s Jr India!
1. Beer at Rs 99
Carl’s Jr has tied up with Kingfisher and Coca-Cola to provide Beer at Rs 99 and an all-you-can-drink soft beverages bar. It was a major hit at the event with almost everyone helping themselves to loads of beverages to wash down the burgers!
2. Tiramisu Shakes
We managed to get our hands on The Tiramisu and the Strawberry shake samplers and they were really really good. Tiramisu Shake tastes somewhat like cold coffee except that it is better, an instant hit.
3. Wasabi Fries & Onion Rings
Finally, we see someone doing Wasabi Fries in Delhi. The Wasabi flavoured accompaniment with the fries is quite good and for those who have the taste for Wasabi, this is a Must Try. The hand-breaded onion rings were also a delight to have.
4. Veg Burgers:
This Carl’s Jr India is the first outlet to have vegetarian burgers on their menu and boy have they done a good job pulling them off! The Paneer Tikka Burger was simply outstanding with the Mango Jalapeno Veg Burger not far behind. Priced at about
Rs150 bucks for a fairly decent size burger, they leave you satiated. The quality of the buns and the fillings was top notch.
5. Chicken Tender:
This dish comes recommended from the owners, the chef and the man behind the counter and it does not disappoint. Priced at Rs. 109 for 2 pieces, the chicken has a slightly tangy after-taste that is something, which either you love or you strongly dislike. We loved it. This definitely belongs to the must order category! #Buzzedar
There wasn’t a lot to complain about from the preview event at Carl’s Jr but the Mile High Chicken Burger left us a bit disappointed. Priced at 260 bucks, and filled with onion rings and cheese, it was neither filling nor was it as tasty as it sounds. Not that it was bad, it definitely was a solid 3/5 but with that price and the hype we had hoped for better.
Carl’s Jr India has big plans and looks to have gotten to the right start. The place has the feel of a premium fast food joint and has stayed trued to the Chargrilled roots that are so well loved abroad. What really takes the cake is the Kingfisher beer at Rs99, making it the only such place in Delhi and giving it a stealing march over its competitors such as Burger King and Fatburger. We recommend a visit to Carl’s Jr the next time you are at Select Citywalk or about. Do let us know how you liked it. ☺ If you want to discover more buzzing places around you check our android app!
