Worry no more because the popular Mumbai restaurant, Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra has officially opened its doors to the city folks! Located on Janpath road, Masala library flaunts its glossy white and gold exterior and it’s bound to catch your eye. Step into the gastronomical haven and you’ll be greeted with a gigantic glass bar parading its collection of the most exquisite brands of alcohol from around the globe and it doesn’t end at this, the collection involves around 80 labels of wine! Hallelujah!

The interiors are simple yet elegant; a giant glass chandelier hangs in the center lighting up the room with all its grace. Tables set up with crisp white table cloths and perfectly ironed cloth napkins and plush chairs to keep you comfortable all along.



The restaurant has put together an incredible menu with the help of their brilliant Chef. We recommend opting for the chef’s tasting menu to familiarize yourself with the wonderful taste and feel of Zorawar Kalra’s (son of Jiggs Kalra) molecular gastronomy the first time you visit here.

We dived into the gastronomical experience and opted for 2 tasting menus along with wine pairing. The menus had hand pulled duck with plum Korma, Pepper lamb with Appam shell, Radhuni sea bass , Mushroom chai and ashes ice cream to name a few. The meal as expected was an incredible affair although the Radhuni sea bass turned out to be a bit dry. However, the star of the night was the Ashes Ice cream that left us opting for seconds.



The overall experience was tasteful and the service was top notch, with our server and the Maitre D Mr. Hirlekar making sure to take us through the details of every dish served to us and the best way to eat it, adding to our experience.
